I go in spurts as to what I have for breakfast… For example,
I will go for a month where I eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast, then I get
tired of it and switch to eggs… every morning for another month (or so) I will
eat eggs.
Currently, I am eating bread. NOT toast, just bread with
some wonderful Amish Jam on it. I get my bread from Ric’s Bread at Lancaster Central Market. It has no
preservatives or any of that other “funny Stuff”.
As far as jam goes, I have been alternating between Jonah’s No Sugar Added Blackberry and Olivia’s No Sugar Added Red Raspberry.
Since both of those jars are about empty, I stopped in at market today and
grabbed some Laura’s No Sugar Added
Blueberry – MMM!!! I think it would be safe to say this is my favorite.
It is SO good – tastes like fresh blueberries from grandma’s garden!!!
For those of you who were looking for our Multigrain Snacks at market earlier this week, we apologize for not having them… However… good news… tomorrow (Friday) the CoCo Pop machine will be back in action. We will be popping all day. Come and check it out and restock your supply!
And remember, due to construction at Lancaster Central Market, we are relocated for a few more market days. Follow the signs or ask around to find us. We are carrying ALL of our normal items in our temporary location; Biscotti, Gluten Free Biscotti, Amish Jams, Salsas, Dressings, Marinades, Mustards, Veggies, BBQ Sauces, Hot Sauces, No Sugar Added Jams, etc…
Last night, we were hungry for a sweet snack… Someone at market on Saturday told my hubby that they grill their peaches! We thought this sounded interesting, so we tried it!
We grilled a few peaches, ran to the store for vanilla ice cream and had a wonderful snack. Then hubby got the fantastic idea to add a few scoops of Pricilla’s Peach Jam on top of the ice cream and peaches… he even put the jam in the microwave to warm it up. OH MY WORD! I can’t tell you all in words how delicious this was!
You could really do this with any type of fruit and of course all of our Amish Jams. We will definitely be trying different combinations in the future!
Last night we were over at my in laws celebrating my husband’s brother. Of course we had a wonderful time catching up with friends and family but he highlight of the night for me was the food! My mother in law had all the fixin’s for taco salads. For some reason, this has been a favorite of mine lately so I was more than happy when I walked in the door and saw what was for dinner!
She had fresh cut lettuce, corn chips, taco beef, cheese and a variety of salsas. My favorite is Lynn’s Pineapple Salsa. I love the sweet flavor with the taco meat. My hubby prefers Keith’s Corn Salsa on his. This is good as well but for some reason I just can’t get enough of the Pineapple.
If you love tacos (and who doesn’t given how easy they are to make), I highly recommend trying one of our Amish Salsas on them… whether you eat it in a taco or as a salad, these salsas won’t disappoint!
